Growing up in the Dutch region ‘Alblasserwaard’ I have always been fascinated by this wide and open landscape. Surrounded by large rivers and covered with windmills it has kept a character of it’s own during the last centuries. A lot of pictures on this website are made in this landscape.
Although I bought my first camera when I was 14 years of age I did not start to capture the beauty of this landscape untill I discovered the advantages of digital photography a few years
ago. That has improved my photographic interests incredibily.
In always trying to capture that special light or circumstances
I believe to have created a style of my own. Not surprisingly,
the quietness of the early morning and the famous ‘blue hour’
just before sunset are my favorite times of the day.
I also find a lot of inspiration in watching the work of great
photographers like ‘Paul van Gaalen’ and ‘Fred Hazelhoff’.
Especially the last one has always been a great example to me.
Besides pictures of the Dutch landscape you can also find pictures that have been taken during travels and holidays abroad. If you would like to comment on this website or are interested in one of the pictures please feel free to contact me or leave a message in the guestbook.
Enjoy your stay!
